Online Therapy

Before COVID-19 started, online therapy was an up-and-coming platform being used to provide counseling services because of its convenience and its ability to provide counseling to those who were not in an area where counseling was easily accessed. However, COVID-19 made it difficult to provide in-person services, even to those clients who were already established and receiving services. Out of necessity, counselors were hustling to become trained in delivering online counseling so that they could help as many people as possible during very difficult circumstances. It is safe to say that everyone was affected in some way by COVID and feelings of anxiety, depression, and trauma were heightened.

How It Works

The online platform that I use to deliver counseling over the internet is confidential and easy to access. It is a lot like using Facetime or Skype. It is an easy and convenient way to meet in the comfort of your own home and saves you the time and money of driving to an office for an in-person appointment. Online therapy has been found to be as effective as in-person services. However, some people really prefer meeting and connecting face-to-face. I anticipate that I will continue to offer online therapy into the future because it has been so beneficial.
